How my bipartisan pledge works for ALL of Rutland Town voters' top concerns
"Barbara Noyes Pulling is clearly the best candidate for Rutland Town's representative in Montpelier ...
"She listens, considers diverse perspectives, and leads project teams to successful outcomes."

Where is our Town Legislator?
The iconic Vermont family business, Thomas Dairy, abruptly announced it was closing Oct. 1 after 99 years in business due to COVID19 financial impacts. And days later, we still haven't heard a peep from our Town Representative.
What did he know and when did he know it? Why didn't he communicate to our community the plight of Thomas Dairy, an economic cornerstone of Rutland Town?
If elected, I will protect all Town businesses and Town residents from the economic ravages of COVID19. I will actively pursue immediate state and federal intervention, ongoing Town-wide communication, and effective, inclusive community outreach, my friends.
You'll never be caught unawares again.
Thomas Dairy is irreplaceable; our Town Representative should have treated it as such.
COVID19 Financial
Needs Inventory
Dear Rutland Town Voters: As we enter the fall, I'm gathering the "real person" impacts of COVID19 on our community. I am concerned that Town residents are suffering through this crisis, often alone, and don't know who to turn to for help.
I plan to share this data, in tally form only, with the Legislature. I will not use your name or any identifying data without your permission. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

This is one of my favorite photos, showing two 18-year-olds who honored me with what was among their first votes in the Vermont August primary. I'm sending a very special 'THANK YOU!' to them and their family, neighbors Philip Allen and Marlene Lederman Allen.
Thank you, all Rutland Town voters, for your strong Primary Election support and trust.
Onward and upward, my friends!
Pulling campaign vow:
I will serve **ALL** of Rutland Town
"I am telephoning ALL Rutland Town voters over the next four months -- Republicans, Independents, and Democrats -- to hear YOUR concerns, to learn what issues worry YOU, to share YOUR ideas with our community.
"I'm doing this outreach through October because we are one town, irrespective of party labels. Together, we can solve the devastating economic and healthcare crises of COVID19. But the old 'politics as usual' won't work. Divisiveness and bitter hyper-partisanship are useless relics of the past.
"We face an unprecedented regional and statewide emergency that has touched all of our lives. And yet ..... Do you know our legislator's plans for the upcoming special session? I don't. There is little to no ongoing communication to us regular Town voters about legislative proposals; no one asks for our opinions, input, or ideas.
"I will. And I do. The lack of communication, transparency, and accountability to Rutland Town voters is a major reason why I'm running. I'm tired of being ignored and marginalized. We need a change in our House Representative.
"If elected, I will bring everyone -- and all viewpoints -- to the table so that we Town residents can work together, crafting concrete legislative plans for our community. I will be accountable and answerable to you, the voters. And I will be your advocate, 24/7, in Rutland Town and in Montpelier.
"We can do this, dear neighbors and friends. Through constant communication, inclusion, collaboration, bipartisanship, and voter-based proposals, we can rebuild from the damage of COVID19. And, in so doing, we'll set a strategy for our Town for the next decade."

Why I value listening ....
Here I am, back in the day, working as a television reporter, my friends.
My broadcasting career taught me the importance of active listening, ongoing communication, and community involvement — especially when it came to pressing social and economic issues.
Those lessons helped shaped my core principles as a professional and now as a nominee for Rutland Town’s next House Representative.
In this new COVID19 era, we need a new kind of leader in Montpelier, one who listens and values ALL voters’ voices, inclusion, teamwork, collaboration, and bipartisanship.
I’ll never take you, the voters, for granted. I’ll never abandon my post. I will be available to you, 24/7, during my entire term — in-session and out-of-session. I will always advocate for you, and advance your interests.
You’ll always take center stage and have my full focus, dear Rutland Town neighbors and friends.
Let’s do this!

Countdown to Vermont General Election: Please VOTE!
AUTUMN 2020 PULLING CAMPAIGN NEWS
Barbara Launches Phase III
of Campaign for House of Representatives: She's Telephoning **ALL** voters!
Dear Rutland Town residents,
Thank you for supporting me in the Vermont Primary Election. Now we enter Phase III of my campaign for Rutland Town's seat in the Vermont House of Representatives.
The issues blueprint is complete, thanks to your help earlier this summer. You can find it here.
In July and August, I spent almost every evening and weekend telephoning every single Rutland Town voter. I am still doing that in September, and plan to continue to telephone folks into mid-October. By that date, I believe I will have reached out to everyone.
I am eager to listen to your top concerns, issues, and feedback. I've already spoken to about 2,000 folks and everyone seems pleased that I am taking the time to call.
Sometimes I do leave a telephone message, if no one is home. Please know that you can always call me back. I really want to hear your concerns and top legislative issues for our Town!
My home phone is 802-747-7535.
If elected, I will continue to keep everyone in Rutland Town informed of all the issues and votes taking place in Montpelier, and I'll always ask for your valuable input along the way. During this campaign, I have learned from hundreds of Town residents that the LACK of communication from our current Town Legislator is a major sore point and a source of aggravation. People feel excluded and ignored; please know that I will never treat you that way nor ever take your vote for granted.
If elected, I will be working for YOU! Not the other way around.
The economic crisis triggered by the COVID19 pandemic is quite serious, dear friends.
Very crucial financial decisions must be made in Montpelier, and all us Rutland Town residents should have a seat at the table.
With me in Montpelier, you will.
We'll develop a Town-wide legislative plan, built with YOUR voices and perspectives. We'll have an inclusive, bipartisan approach that values individual and community experiences.
The hyper-partisan, polarizing politics, and voter marginalization of the past won’t get us through today, when we face the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.
We must come together, and tackle the future with a united, optimistic front. We must stand as one Town whose shared interests far outweigh any partisan differences.
Please join my bipartisan campaign of inclusion today. Let’s bring ALL voters’ voices back into the legislative process.
#PullingTogether #OneTown
Sincerely,
Barbara Noyes Pulling
Welcome to my 2020 campaign website!
Here's a brief personal introduction ...
My name is Barbara Noyes Pulling. I'm a native Vermonter, born and raised right here in Rutland Town with my six siblings.
My family's Green Mountain roots are deep, dating back to 1794.
Today, I'm eager to earn your vote and to serve you in House District Rutland-4.
My website is designed for community dialogue.
I'm running for three major reasons:
First, in this COVID19 era, I believe we need all hands on deck. That means everyone. That means all our neighbors, regardless of political party. To resolve the severe damage wrought by this pandemic, we must end the hyper-partisan, polarizing "politics as usual" of the past. It's time for a change.
Second, we need new leadership and a collaborative, inclusive, bipartisan approach to solving problems, especially with the economic hits we've taken regionally due to the coronavirus lockdowns.
Third, I'm tired -- like many of you -- of having the Rutland Region take the proverbial backseat and always getting short shrift in Montpelier. We aren't "the other Vermont;" we are the heart and soul of Vermont. We are its farmers, dairy producers, entrepreneurs, small business owners, blue- and white-collar workers, teachers, healthcare professionals, grocery store employees, truck drivers, moms, dads, grandparents, dreamers, and innovators. It's time we started calling the shots about what's best for our own region.
How do we start? By bringing all of Rutland Town's voters to the table, not just limiting attendance to the powerful few.
If you click the Voter Survey button below, you will see a short form where you can describe the issues you want to see addressed and resolved in Montpelier.
In this era of COVID19, social media enables me to hear directly from you.
Your voice, your interests, are the most important factors in my campaign. I'm eager to learn what issues concern you as residents of Rutland Town and as citizens of Vermont, so I can work for you in Montpelier. Also, from August through the end of September, I am telephoning and talking to every single Town voter.
If elected to Montpelier, the voters of Rutland Town will be my bosses. I'll be working for you, and I'll always ask and seek your input on upcoming votes and issues.
If you have comments, ideas, or questions, please feel free to email or call me.
Thank you so much for your time and support.

August 2020 marks the 9th anniversary of Tropical Storm Irene. It devastated Vermont, but it strengthened our community and civic bonds. Overnight, everyday Vermonters responded to the emergency, with neighbors helping neighbors. As our communities did in late August, 2011, I believe we Vermonters can band together again to defeat the catastrophe of COVID19.
